I am a Bangladeshi-born American multidisciplinary artist, graduate of the University of Dhaka’s Faculty of Fine Arts, now based in Ohio. My journey as an artist started in a very young age. I won prizes and awards as a child, teen and adult. I studied in a European style Art School but later my work merged with contemporary style. I mostly work on figurative subjects where women’s struggles, vulnerability and empowerment are the strength of my work.
My work explores women’s lives—their struggles, emotions, journeys, resilience, and hidden strength. I draw from my own experiences as a woman and from the stories of women I meet, turning pain, memory, and vulnerability into visual stories of strength and empowerment.
My process is intuitive and deeply personal. I work with painting, drawing, mixed media, textiles, and performance, often using my hands and body rather than brushes. I incorporate recycled materials and different textures to create a physical and emotional connection with each work. I consider myself a work in progress, and I practice every day because I feel I cannot breathe without my art.
