A few years ago (and some change), three friends got together and crafted a dream built on their love of not just beer but the creativity that goes into it. They wanted that creative spark to permeate an entire taproom experience, and they set out to build Honest Friend.

Serving as just one of many creative outlets, Honest Friend’s beer (plus cocktails, wine, and more) complements a taproom full of curious spaces. Come by on any given night and find different art and live entertainment. Plus, the atmosphere is perfect for kicking back and enjoying a pint because Honest Friend specializes in lower-alcohol beers.

Stories told through illustrated brand characters and the work of local artists and makers are shared alongside each new season’s beer.

Honest Friend was founded by Chris Carter, Kayla Lewis, and Will Gutmann. They form the perfect craft brewery trifecta of beer (Chris), brand (Kayla), and business (Will). All three had long dreamt of starting their own venture built on creativity and authenticity.

Honest Friend’s location within Steelton Village puts it at the forefront of larger efforts to introduce more destinations to the surrounding community. Honest Friend is proud to be part of Steelton’s restoration and to serve the local creative community.
