Honest Friend is a different kind of brewery experience for Columbus. Yes, we’ll be bringing you incredible beer, but we won’t be doing it alone. We have some unusual friends we want you to meet, and we‘ll watch their stories unfold along the way.

We are set to open our doors this October at 2112 South High Street. Follow our construction journey on Instagram @honestfriendbrewing.

Serving as just one of many creative outlets, our beer (plus cocktails, seltzers, and more) complements a taproom full of curious spaces with dedicated areas such as an event space and stage. Plus, the atmosphere is perfect for kicking back and enjoying a beer or three because we specialize in lower ABV beers.

Stories told through illustrated characters and the work of local artists and makers will be shared alongside each new season’s beer.

Honest Friend was founded by Chris Carter, Kayla Lewis, and Will Gutmann. We form the perfect craft brewery trifecta of beer (Chris), brand (Kayla), and business (Will). The concept began taking shape in 2020, but all three of us had long dreamt of starting our own venture.

Our location within Steelton Village puts us at the forefront of larger efforts to introduce more destinations to the surrounding community. We couldn’t be happier to be part of Steelton’s restoration and to serve the creative community at The Fort (which is right across the parking lot!)
